Grain Africa Congress Began in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

GRAIN AFRICA – Africa Grain, Pulses and Technologies Congress, organized by Parantez Group in cooperation with the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture and Addis Ababa University, began on 29th October 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Mulatu Teshome, H.E. Tefera Derebew, H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Osman Rıza Yavuzalp, Scientific Director of AAIT at Addis Ababa University Prof. Young Kyun Kim, and General Director of Parantez Group Mrs. Zübeyde Kavraz.

The Africa Grain, Pulses and Technologies Congress aimed to bring together senior government officials and ministers from African countries, grain-sector representatives, researchers, farmers, and leading technology companies from around the world. The three-day congress was held at the African Union Conference Hall from 29th to 31st October 2014.

Mr. R.S. Choyal's Presentation on Modern Milling Technology

Mr. R.S. Choyal from India delivered a presentation on Organic Milling and New Technology Development in Organic Stone-Ground Flour Mills. He introduced the digitally operated stone mill, "Wonder Mill", along with an advanced stone dressing machine.

During his presentation, Mr. Choyal explained various aspects of modern and conventional milling and highlighted the importance of adopting appropriate technologies to improve milling practices and support small-scale businesses.

Focus on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship

Mr. Choyal also emphasized the importance of skill development, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities for farmers and youth. He shared practical insights into the milling industry and encouraged participants to explore opportunities in small-business entrepreneurship.

As part of the initiative to promote international knowledge sharing, he invited African millers and research fellows to visit the Choyal School of Milling Technology under a cultural and technical exchange program.

The presentation received an enthusiastic response from participants, with many attendees appreciating Mr. Choyal's practical and informative approach, particularly its relevance to farmers, young entrepreneurs, and professionals in the milling sector.
